New Nissan Maxima Makes a Trip to New York

During the 2015 New York International Auto Show press days, held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center earlier this month, Nissan revealed its all-new 2016 Maxima mid-size sedan, which has been coined a “four-door sports car.” (1)

The 2016 front-wheel drive Maxima can be considered the sportier sedan when compared to the Nissan Altima, (2) due in part to a potent 3.5-liter V-6 engine pushing 300-horsepower and coupled to a continuously variable transmission. (1) As for fuel economy, the Japanese car maker anticipates a boost in miles-per-gallon ratings over the 2015 model; the 2016 Maxima is approximately 80-pounds lighter than its predecessor. (2)

In terms of its exterior appearance, the 2016 Nissan Maxima gets a fresh new look, sporting styling cues that are reminiscent of the Murano mid-size crossover. (2) The vehicle’s flowing lines across the fenders, revised face and swept-back profile are among its charms. (1)

The model is available in five trims — the S, SV, SL, SR and Platinum (1) — the last of which gains a segment first drowsy driver detection safety system (2) known as Driver Attention Alert. (3) All versions of the sedan come equipped with features like an 8-inch touchscreen display with NissanConnect, satellite and HD radio, navigation and a rearview camera, and according to U.S. News & World Report, online connection via Google is included. (1)

Guests can also expect more luxurious elements, depending on the trim, such as active noise cancellation, a 360-degree monitor, and adaptive cruise control. (1)

Details regarding the sleek new 2016 Maxima sedan can be found at Ferman Nissan of Tampa, Florida. (1)
